Tips For Branding Your Rental Company

"Half of what separates successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance."

-Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs continues to be one of my most influential innovators and business owners to this day. His passion for his work and his attention to detail led him to build an empire. For someone who dedicated his life before his passing to his work, his goal was never to build the largest company in the world, but to create something incredible. If you own a business I would recommend reading his biographies and memoirs for inspiration. They have certainly helped me. In the world of the rental industry, branding your name, your image, is as important as the service and products you offer to your customers. Here are a few helpful tips to keep you on point for building a brand for your rental company.

BE ORIGINAL

Everyone can rent tables and chairs to the local public. What makes you stand out? Why should potential clients seek your service instead of going to the most well known event/rental company in your area? Maybe you offer better products. Maybe your service is quicker. If you're starting small you will have more time to dedicate towards each of your customers. This will stand out to them. It's easy to copy your competition, but doing so will leave you in second place forever. For there to be long term growth, you have to be genuine. Your products and service need to tell your clients who you are, what your business does, and what it stands for. According to Goodshuffle Pro, creating targeted blog posts with keywords will help search engines direct your ideal client to your website and help Market Your Rental Business in the "Off Season”.

STAND FOR SOMETHING YOU BELIEVE IN

FoldingChairsandTables.com sells it's product to hundreds of rental companies around the country. We also rent these products to our local public. What kind of company would we be if we rented a different brand of chair or table to our rental customers instead of our own? What would that say about the products that we offer? Probably nothing good. We stand behind our event furniture and we use them as well. Your clients should feel the same way about your services and rental furniture that you provide.

MARKETING THE RIGHT WAY

Marketing your rental company can be an entirely separate article because of how much it can encompass. It's impossible to explain the best way to market your business locally. Certain marketing methods work better than others, and there are many variables that can determine what works. Determining factors such as your target market (Your group of customers at which a product or service is aimed ) and target industry (What kind of demand is there? Where do customers find your services?) can have an impact on effective marketing. You can market through newspapers, at local events, through search engines that link to your website, and/or by using flyers and business cards. These are excellent ways to get your name out there, but there is no greater marketing tool than word of mouth. Your customer's will tell others about your service and the quality of your rental products. When you are returning the rented furniture back from the customer to you, your interaction with them shouldn't end there. Follow up with them a few weeks later and ask for feedback. Use customer testimonials on your website for others to see. Set up a Google Business page which lets you send emails to your customers asking them to review your business. More reviews helps with placing your business higher in search results when people search for event chairs and tables online.

IT'S NOT A RACE, IT'S A MARATHON

Building your rental business up and branding it takes time. Years actually. Some entrepreneurs find a niche or invent a product that explodes to the public almost overnight, but you're entering an industry that has been around for decades, and there are thousands of others doing what you are doing. The time it takes for you to build a brand depends on how long before your customers come around to accepting your brand and what you have to offer. Be patient and stick with your long term goals. Building a brand for your rental business will typically take a lot of time and a substantial amount of resources.

GIVE YOUR CUSTOMERS MORE THAN JUST SERVICE

Give your customers more than just quality service. Make your customers feel like they are your top priority from beginning to end. Stand behind your products and make them feel like your products will improve on their event. Relate to your customer's needs. Some of the world's largest brands have made it their goal to understand their customer's problems and needs, and focus on being their solution.
